My Story

The Story of Pearls at Twilight

A Heritage of Light

With Swiss-Italian roots and a life lived between cultures, I have always been drawn to the quiet language of candles — from the soft glow of European vigils to the peaceful warmth of my home in Australia. To me, a candle is never just wax and flame; it carries memory, faith, warmth, and presence.

The Art of Slow Craft

At 72, I have chosen the patient, old-fashioned way over mass production. With the generous guidance of artisans from Europe and South Africa, I hand-pour each piece using natural beeswax and coco-soy blends. Every candle is made slowly and intentionally, created to bring comfort, serenity, and beauty into your home.

Simple Tools, Patient Hands

In my studio, with 1940s jazz playing softly, I still hand-dip my beeswax tapers using a humble olive oil tin turned dipping pot. It’s a process built on simple tools and steady hands — a way of creating timeless pieces that linger long after the celebration ends.

A Calling

This work feels like a calling — a way to share light in a world that can sometimes feel too hurried. Whether you light a candle for prayer, remembrance, celebration, or simply for a quiet golden glow, I hope it touches your heart as deeply as creating it has touched mine.
